# Buffer Technical

Recorded September 30, 2026 from the current Buffer app. Narration uses the Niki synthetic preset, performed at its natural pace. Public mainnet observations are capture-time data; illustrative portfolio scenes are identified below. No authentication or recipient delivery is staged.

## 00:00:00 — Start with a verified observation

*Public Solana mainnet observation.*

Buffer separates provider reads, normalized snapshots, and scenario calculations. Public account lookup needs no wallet connection. The optional wallet picker supplies an address; Buffer does not submit trades. Here, Velocity is selected on Solana mainnet.

## 00:00:17 — Identity and freshness travel together

*Public Solana mainnet observation.*

The server checks account ownership, market identity, and oracle validity before exposing an eligible observation. Account identity, source slots, and timestamps remain inspectable. A stale or failed refresh withholds calculations and exports until a valid replacement arrives.

## 00:00:36 — Exact inputs, explicit scope

*Illustrative portfolio.*

For a supported linear position, the price effect is signed quantity, times frozen price, times the selected shock. Decimal arithmetic preserves exact report values. Quote currencies remain separate. This calculation excludes funding, fees, future fills, and collateral price changes.

## 00:00:55 — Current risk and a separate estimate

*Public Solana mainnet observation.*

Current maintenance collateral and requirement come from the Velocity observation. Their difference is headroom. A separate liquidation model changes one position's price while holding the other prices fixed. Its assumptions and exclusions are visible; it is not the protocol's liquidation engine.

## 00:01:14 — Coverage is a product feature

*Provider capabilities.*

Pacifica supports price scenarios with API timestamps. Jupiter remains inventory only, and legacy Drift is paused. Devnet observations are clearly identified as test values and never enter background monitoring. Mainnet and devnet reports retain their network identity.

## 00:01:34 — Monitor an observation, preserve the evidence

*Monitoring setup · no delivery staged.*

Hosted rules can watch maintenance headroom or a market's liquidation distance. Owner scoped storage, fresh checks, and a durable outbox protect the workflow. Discord acceptance, matching receipts, and signed webhook delivery have distinct states. A configured destination is required before sending.

## 00:01:53 — A result you can inspect again

*Illustrative portfolio.*

Finally, download the report with its source, inputs, model identity, and exclusions. Device history works without an account; private cloud storage is optional. The same responsive workspace runs in supported browsers as an installable web app.
